Clean UAE campaign reaches third stage in Sharjah

Sharjah 24: Dr Habiba Al Marashi, Chairperson of the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), announced that the 24th cycle of the “Clean UAE” campaign has reached its third stage in Sharjah, specifically in the Al Batayeh area, with significant community and institutional participation of around 1,000 volunteers across 10 square kilometres.

Dr Al Marashi added to Sharjah 24 that the first and second stages of the campaign collected over 8,000 kilos of waste and sorted more than 2,700 kilos of biodegradable materials.

She noted that the campaign has successfully raised environmental awareness, engaging over 1,037,000 people from different community segments, covering more than 1,200 square kilometres, and collecting over 1,700,000 kilos of waste nationwide.

The campaign began on 8 December in Dubai, covering all emirates, and will conclude on 13 December in Abu Dhabi.
