Raines said: “I have to say, I feel genuinely honoured, privileged, and even inspired to be here at the Islamic Arts Festival in Sharjah. It's simply beautiful. Firstly, it's a wonderful experience just to be here. Secondly, it's inspiring to see all the different cultures, inputs, and artists from around the world coming together around these themes and sharing their diverse perspectives in creating such stunning, moving art, including talented artists from the United States and beyond. It’s truly an honour to be part of this. I also want to congratulate the festival organisers, the museum, and the Sharjah government itself. It’s been a truly memorable experience.”
Raines emphasised that the diversity of artworks and the richness of perspectives showcased at the festival reflect Sharjah’s commitment to fostering meaningful cultural dialogue. He praised the event for serving as a global platform where traditional Islamic aesthetics meet contemporary interpretations, creating powerful and resonant artistic expressions.
Raines commended the festival organisers, the hosting museum, and the Government of Sharjah for their commitment to promoting Islamic art and fostering cross-cultural understanding. He noted that such events boost Sharjah’s reputation as a leading cultural centre and a hub for international artistic collaboration.
