Sharjah24: Rafid Vehicle Solutions has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Sharjah (UOS) aimed at supporting scientific research through the exchange of specialised vehicle-related data. The partnership demonstrates Rafid’s commitment to fostering national research efforts and contributing to academic studies that benefit the community and key sectors across the UAE.

The agreement was signed by Ahmed Jumaa Al Musharrekh, General Manager of Rafid Vehicle Solutions, and Professor Maamar Bettayeb, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies at the University of Sharjah, in the presence of Dr Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice-Chancellor for Community Affairs, along with senior officials from both sides.

Supporting specialised research with real-world data

Under the agreement, Rafid will supply the university with relevant data and statistics to support specialised research projects and will liaise directly with researchers to ensure optimal information delivery. The university will use this data solely for scientific research, recognising Rafid’s contribution in all research outputs and sharing final results to encourage knowledge exchange.

Ahmed Jumaa Al Musharrekh stated that the partnership reflects Rafid’s commitment to strengthening the research ecosystem and providing the specialised data needed to develop advanced studies that improve the transport sector’s efficiency. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between industry and academia in creating innovative solutions that enhance the quality of life, elevate services, and support Sharjah and the UAE’s development agenda.

Strengthening applied research and community impact

Professor Bettayeb emphasised that the agreement reflects the university’s commitment to applied scientific research and partnerships that benefit the community. He highlighted that access to real-world data from government and private sector partners enhances research results and encourages innovation in areas such as traffic services and digital transformation.

Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj added that the agreement reflects the university’s societal role in supporting local community needs through applied research, noting that academic–sector cooperation builds a knowledge-rich environment that supports sustainable development.
