The evening opened with a third-place playoff between Medcare Hospital Sharjah and Bahri & Mazroei Company. Played at full throttle, the match swung from end to end before Medcare held their nerve to claim third place. Attention then turned to the long-anticipated final between Sharjah Cooperative Society and Sharjah Charity International, a contest that lived up to its billing. The two teams traded possession and chances in front of an animated crowd, yet it was Sharjah Charity International who finally broke through, sealing the title and leaving Sharjah Cooperative as gallant runners-up.
Across the wider competition, trophies were shared among three main categories. In the companies bracket, first place went to Sharjah Cooperative Society, second to Pizza Hut Americana and third to Bahri & Mazroei, while AFCO Group took home the fair play award. Among hospitals and authorities, the Sharjah Fisheries Authority finished top, Medcare Hospital Sharjah took second and University Hospital Sharjah secured third. In the charitable associations category, Sharjah Charity International claimed first place, the Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charity Foundation came second, and Emirates Red Crescent completed the podium.
The closing ceremony doubled as a tribute to those who made the tournament possible. The top three teams in each category received their medals before organisers turned the spotlight on sponsors, partners and members of the organising committees, thanking them for shaping an event that showcased the university’s growing stature as a hub for community and sporting life. Prof. Eid Kanaan, Dean of Student Affairs, noted that this year’s edition brought together 45 teams from leading national institutions in banking, government, philanthropy, healthcare and the corporate sector, a turnout he said reflects the depth of the university’s strategic partnerships with its surroundings.
Run throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the tournament featured tightly contested fixtures and a steady stream of drama, but its purpose extended beyond the scoreline. The University of Sharjah views the competition as part of its drive to strengthen community engagement and to use sport as a bridge between people and institutions. By championing teamwork, fair play and positive competition, the “Partners in Success” championship has helped cement ties with the university’s partners and reaffirmed sport’s place at the heart of campus and community life.
