Participating poets included Sultan Al Dhayt from Saudi Arabia, Aya Wahbi from Sudan, and Tariq Al Janaini from Egypt. The event was attended by the House's director, poet Mohammed Abdullah Al Buraiki, as well as a large gathering of critics, poets, and poetry enthusiasts.
The evening was hosted by Syrian media personality Bilsan Ahmed, who welcomed the attendees and expressed her deepest gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Bilsan Ahmed said, "On Arabic Language Day, the word is launched from here, from the House of Poetry in the Emirate of Sharjah—this lofty and venerable edifice where words dance to the tune of art, humanity, and harmony, under the generous and enduring patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him."
The readings commenced with poet Sultan Al Dhayt, who presented texts exploring themes from the poet's spiritual inquiries within the realm of writing to his human emotions. He also recited a piece about love and its delicate yet contradictory feelings.
Poet Aya Wahbi read some of her poems, starting with one about the Arabic language, exploring its descriptions, praising its meanings, and emphasising its cultural importance. In her poem titled "A Letter to Al-Shabbi," she addressed the Tunisian poet Abu al Qasim al-Shabbi, highlighting his uniqueness and creativity.
The evening concluded with poet Tariq Al Janaini, who recited a poem in praise of the Arabic language, "Daughter of Light," blending emotion and eloquence.
Finally, poet Muhammad Al Buraiki honoured the participating poets and the evening's host.
