Napoli qualifies for Italian Super Cup final

Sharjah 24 – AFP: Napoli secured a place in the Italian Super Cup final for the sixth time in the club’s history after defeating defending champions AC Milan 2–0 in the semi-final.

Semi-final victory in Riyadh

The match was played at Al-Ahli Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Napoli delivered a strong performance to overcome AC Milan in the 38th edition of the competition.

Goals seal the win

Coach Antonio Conte’s side booked their place in the final thanks to goals from Brazilian winger David Neres in the 39th minute and Danish striker Rasmus Hjølund in the 64th minute.

Eyeing a third Super Cup title

Napoli will face the winner of Friday’s semi-final between Inter Milan and Bologna in the final, scheduled for Monday. The club is aiming to win the Italian Super Cup for the third time, having previously lifted the trophy in 1990 and 2014.

Tournament format and host nation

This is the third consecutive year the Italian Super Cup has been held in its current format, featuring the Serie A and Coppa Italia champions and runners-up. Saudi Arabia is hosting the competition for the fourth consecutive time and the sixth time overall.
