Sharjah24: AC Milan claimed a crucial three points with a 2–1 victory away to Pisa Sporting Club in the opening match of Round 25 of Serie A, continuing their pursuit of leaders Inter Milan.
Milan initially took the lead through a first-half header from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but were unable to hold their advantage. Substitute Niklas Füllkrug missed a penalty shortly after coming on, and Pisa equalised through Felipe Loyola’s close-range strike.
Visitors hold firm despite late red card
Veteran midfielder Luka Modrić restored Milan’s lead with five minutes remaining, before team-mate Adrien Rabiot was sent off after receiving two quick yellow cards in stoppage time.
The win lifts Milan to 53 points in second place, five behind Inter, who face Juventus FC on Saturday. Pisa remain bottom on 15 points, still battling relegation.
Meanwhile, SSC Napoli meet AS Roma on Sunday, while Como 1907 take on ACF Fiorentina.
