Sharjah 24 – AFP: AC Milan closed the gap to Inter Milan to five points with a 3-2 victory over Torino at the San Siro.

Match highlights

Torino took the lead just before halftime through Giovanni Simeone, but Milan responded in the second half with quick goals from Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana. Torino added a late goal via Nikola Vlasic's penalty, but Milan held on for the win. Fofana commented, "We knew that we hadn't been aggressive enough in the first half, so we came out with more hunger and scored twice."

Standings and Champions League push

The win moved Milan into second place, one point above Napoli, who defeated Cagliari 1-0. Milan sits nine points clear of fifth-placed Juventus, boosting their chances of returning to the UEFA Champions League next season.

Juventus dropped points

Juventus drew 1-1 with a depleted Sassuolo. Kenan Yildiz gave Juve the early lead, but Andrea Pinamonti equalised after the break, and a late penalty by Manuel Locatelli was missed, leaving Juve level on points with Como.

Upcoming fixtures

Milan will face Napoli after the international break as they aim to continue their four-match winning streak following a long injury crisis. Inter Milan plays Fiorentina on Sunday night, while Como hosts Pisa.
