Sharjah24-WAM: In 2025, the United Arab Emirates further strengthened its position as a global digital infrastructure hub, recording a 97 per cent utilisation rate of artificial intelligence tools across government entities, the highest worldwide.

The number of programmers in the country also exceeded 450,000, reflecting the rapid expansion of the national digital ecosystem.

Landmark global AI partnerships

A defining milestone was the launch of the 5-gigawatt UAE–US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi, the largest supercomputing cluster outside the United States, powered by nuclear, solar and gas energy and serving billions of users. This was followed by the Stargate UAE project, a 1-gigawatt initiative led by G42 in partnership with OpenAI, Oracle, Cisco, SoftBank and Nvidia, with its first phase scheduled for 2026.

Investment, innovation and global impact

Strategic cooperation with Europe expanded through a UAE–France AI framework, while UAE-based MGX joined global partners in a potential $100 billion AI infrastructure investment. Domestically, AI-related investments exceeded AED 543 billion, alongside major advances including Jais 2, the world’s largest Arabic-first language model, and the launch of AI in the Ring cultural alignment index.
