Five die in helicopter crash on Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro

The accident occurred on Wednesday evening along one of the mountain’s most frequented climbing routes during a medical evacuation mission, according to police.

Those killed included two foreign nationals being evacuated, a local doctor, a tour guide, and the pilot.

Kilimanjaro regional police commander confirmed that the aircraft was operated by Kilimanjaro Aviation, a company specializing in medical evacuation and other aviation services.
