The lecture, titled Strategies for International Cooperation in Education, Culture, and Heritage, was held on Wednesday at SIH’s headquarters in Al Dhaid Fort. It was organised by the institute’s academic administration in cooperation with its Al Dhaid branch. It was delivered by Dr Ibrahim Abdul Basit within a programme aimed at developing specialised knowledge and supporting strategic initiatives to advance cultural and heritage education in line with international best practice.
The session reviewed the key concepts of international cooperation, the levels of integration it requires, and the global frameworks and programs that support academic and cultural collaboration. It also presented successful partnership models between universities, museums and cultural institutions, while outlining SIH’s role in fostering international cooperation and proposing practical approaches to strengthening partnerships across the education and culture sectors.
The lecture attracted academics, researchers, and students specialising in heritage, museums, tourism guidance, and cultural tourism, as well as professionals working in cultural, touristic, and museum institutions. It was marked by strong interactions and in-depth discussion, reflecting growing interest in international cooperation in education, culture, and heritage and contributing to a meaningful exchange of expertise among participants.
