Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain kept up the pressure on surprise leaders Lens by defeating Paris FC 2–1 in the 17th round of Ligue 1.
PSG’s goals were scored by Désiré Doué in the 45th minute and Ousmane Dembélé in the 53rd. Paris FC pulled one back through William Goubels, who converted a penalty in the 51st minute.
With the win, PSG raised their tally to 39 points, moving into second place, just one point behind leaders Lens. Paris FC, meanwhile, remain on 16 points in 15th position.
The two sides are set to meet again next Monday in the Round of 32 of the Coupe de France. PSG also face a busy schedule, with a Champions Cup clash against Olympique de Marseille scheduled to take place in Kuwait on Thursday.
This victory marked PSG’s third straight league win since their 1–0 defeat to AS Monaco on November 29.
