Expanding reach and responsibility
Al Gergawi emphasised the summit’s growth, noting the audience expansion from 1 billion followers in its first edition to 3.5 billion in its fourth. He highlighted that this momentum comes with increased responsibility to use content for positive change.
Content as a force for change
“Content is now an integral part of politics, economy, and community,” said Al Gergawi. He stressed that creators influence public awareness, priorities, and the future, with individuals exposed to over 10,000 media messages daily and spending five hours on social media on average.
From entertainment to impact
Al Gergawi explained that content creation today is about meaning and impact, not just entertainment. The summit’s “Content for Good” theme positions creators as agents of change, encouraging them to shift from amassing followers to driving social, educational, and humanitarian impact.
Global initiatives highlighted
He cited the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness Campaign with MrBeast, which inspired over 170,000 acts of kindness worldwide, as well as a TikTok edutainment initiative recognising top educators that attracted 600,000 participants and generated 1.8 billion views.
AI shaping the content industry
Al Gergawi noted the transformative role of AI in content creation. He said that 86% of creators now use generative AI tools, which quadruple content output while cutting costs by 60%, and that 70% of images circulating on social media today are AI-generated. He also highlighted the growing market for virtual influencers, projected to reach $37 billion in four years, and the summit’s $1 million AI Film Award with Google Gemini, aimed at empowering creators in filmmaking.
Human creativity remains central
Concluding his remarks, Al Gergawi affirmed that while technology, platforms, and algorithms are influential, it is human imagination and the meanings we create that ultimately shape the future.
