Sharjah 24: Sharjah 24: Emirati artist Ahmed Al Jasmi expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continued support of theatre locally and regionally. He noted that the Sharjah National Theatre would not have reached its current level without His Highness’s patronage.

"Baba" chosen to represent UAE at Arab Theatre Festival

Al Jasmi also thanked the Arab Theatre Authority’s viewing and selection committee for choosing the Emirati play Baba to represent the UAE at the Arab Theatre Festival in Cairo. He highlighted that the performance was well-received by the Arab audience, reflecting the high standards of Emirati theatre.

Sharjah National Theatre: Competing at a high level

He emphasised that the Sharjah National Theatre troupe competes at a high level both locally and internationally. Currently, 14 theatrical performances are competing for His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s Award for Best Arab Theatrical Work, which will be announced at the festival’s closing ceremony at the Egyptian Opera House.
