The ceremony witnessed the honouring of outstanding players after Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club succeeded in winning 346 medals of various colours during the 2024/2025 sports season, including 93 gold medals, 121 silver medals, and 132 bronze medals across different local and international competitions.
The ceremony, which was held yesterday evening at the club’s headquarters, was attended by Abdulrahman Muhair Al Ketbi, Rashid Mohammed Al Ketbi, and Mohammed Awad Al Ketbi, members of the Board of Directors, in addition to Mansour Rashid Al Ketbi, the club’s Executive Director, reaffirming the Board’s commitment to supporting and motivating players and continuing the journey of sporting excellence.
The ceremony opened with the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an delivered by player Salem Tamim Salem Al Ketbi. This was followed by the club’s speech delivered by Mansour Rashid Al Ketbi, Executive Director of the club, who indicated that this honouring reflects appreciation for an honourable group of the club’s sons who embodied the values of excellence, discipline, and determination, and who raised the name of Mleiha Club and the nation high during the 2024/2025 sports season.
His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Khasouni Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, expressed his pride in the achievements accomplished by the club’s players during the sports season, stressing that these achievements reflect the fruits of the continuous support provided by the wise leadership to sports and athletes, foremost among them His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his significant role in empowering clubs to achieve success.
The Chairman also praised the continuous support of the Sharjah Sports Council, chaired by Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and its effective efforts in developing the sports movement and nurturing talent. He further commended the efforts of the club’s Board of Directors, the technical and administrative teams, and everyone who contributed to creating a supportive environment for the players.
The Chairman pointed out that the honoured players of Mleiha Club represent an exemplary model of the nation’s youth, affirming that this recognition serves as motivation for them to continue giving and to achieve further accomplishments in upcoming competitions.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo bringing together the technical staff and players, in a celebratory atmosphere reflecting pride in the honourable achievements added to the record of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club.
