Sharjah 24 – WAM: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of Senegal, during his working visit to the UAE, which includes participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026.

Strengthening cooperation across key sectors

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in areas such as the economy, trade, renewable energy, sustainability, infrastructure, and other sectors supporting progress and prosperity for both nations.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week as a global platform

The discussions also highlighted the importance of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which serves as an international platform for collaboration, raising awareness of sustainability challenges, and fostering innovative solutions for sustainable development.

Regional and international issues discussed

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Faye exchanged views on a range of regional and international topics of mutual interest, reinforcing dialogue on key global matters.

Commitment to long-standing UAE-Senegal ties

Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening the long-standing relationship between the UAE and Senegal, with a shared ambition to foster partnerships, drive sustainable economic growth, and explore new avenues for cooperation to advance national development goals.

Attendance by senior UAE officials

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and several ministers and senior officials from the UAE.
