Strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and bilateral cooperation
The meeting reviewed ways to enhance parliamentary diplomacy through the exchange of visits and increased coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest. Both sides noted that this would support and strengthen existing cooperation between the UAE and Japan across various fields, reflecting the shared commitment of both countries’ leaderships and governments to advancing bilateral relations in a way that serves the interests of both friendly peoples.

Saqr Ghobash welcomed Ishiba and the accompanying delegation, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership with Japan in various fields. He praised the continued development of bilateral relations, attributing it to the support and guidance of the leaderships of both countries.

Ghobash expressed his thanks and appreciation to Ishiba for accepting the invitation to visit the UAE and the FNC, noting that the visit reflects the depth and strength of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

He also congratulated the Japanese government on the successful hosting of Expo 2025 Osaka, highlighting the high level of organisational efficiency and global leadership demonstrated by the event.

Ghobash commended the participation of the UAE delegation, noting that it showcased the UAE’s pioneering experience, strengthened its international presence and reinforced its image as a cultural and civilisational partner of Japan.

For his part, Ishiba emphasised the strength and depth of the strategic partnership between Japan and the UAE, which spans key sectors including politics, economics and investment, as well as education, technology, innovation and renewable energy.
