Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) is taking part in the BETT 2026 Education Technology Exhibition and Conference, one of the world’s leading events for education technology, which is being held in London from 21 to 23 January.

Through an interactive platform, SPEA is outlining Sharjah’s education experience across different stages of learning, while highlighting the emirate’s approach to development in the education sector and its use of modern educational technologies.

Higher education participation

SPEA’s platform includes six higher education institutions from Sharjah: the Sharjah Education Academy, the University of Sharjah, the American University of Sharjah, the University of Al Dhaid, the University of Khorfakkan and the University of Kalba. Ten private schools from the emirate are also attending the exhibition, taking part in workshops and visiting several established schools.

The participating institutions are presenting academic initiatives and selected practices related to the use of educational technology in teaching and learning.

Education and sustainable development

Ali Ahmed Al Hosani, Director-General of the Sharjah Private Education Authority and head of the delegation, said the participation reflects Sharjah’s focus on education as a key component of sustainable development. He noted that the adoption of advanced education technologies has become an essential part of building an education system capable of responding to future needs.

Al Hosani said the participation aims to introduce educational institutions to current developments in education technology while reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a centre for innovation and quality education.

Panel discussions

As part of its participation, SPEA is organising two panel discussions. The first addresses the education system in Sharjah from pre-kindergarten through Grade 12, while the second focuses on higher education in the emirate, with contributions from academics and education specialists.

The sessions review a number of educational initiatives in Sharjah and examine SPEA’s role in supporting the development of the education sector and encouraging investment in education.
