Sharjah24: Clubs under the Sharjah Women Sports kicked off their 2026 Women’s Volleyball League campaigns with strong performances, as both Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club recorded clean victories in the opening round. The league is organised by the UAE Volleyball Federation.

Sharjah Women’s Sports Club triumphs

Sharjah Women’s Sports Club defeated Abu Dhabi Women’s Club on Sunday, 18 January 2026, at Sharjah Women’s Sports Club Hall. The players controlled the match from the start through teamwork and tactical discipline, winning in straight sets. The team’s coach, Kareem bin Eyad, highlighted that the victory came from strict adherence to technical instructions, especially in reception organisation, attacking structure, and controlling the game rhythm. He added that the next phase will focus on diversifying attacking strategies and enhancing mental resilience as competition intensifies.

Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club opens with 3-0 win

Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club opened its season with a deserved 3-0 victory over EPIC Academy on Saturday, 17 January 2026, at Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club Hall. The team showcased balanced play and imposed its style from the outset. Coach Buthaina bint Mansour said, “This win reflects the work done during the preparation period, especially in organising the back line.” She added, “The high focus and discipline on court contributed to winning the sets without entering complicated calculations.” Buthaina also noted, “The challenge in the upcoming rounds will be to maintain this rhythm and gradually develop performance as the pace of matches increases.”

Successful launch reflects integrated preparation

This successful start for the Sharjah Women’s Sports clubs reflects the result of integrated technical and administrative efforts, ongoing team development, and the foundation’s commitment to building competitive squads. It also contributes to advancing women’s volleyball and strengthening its presence in the local sporting scene.
