In the junior category, Sharjah Women's Sports Club athletes secured four medals. Sara Mohammed won silver in the under 40 kg weight class, Kulthum Yasser earned silver in the under 48 kg category, Shahd Hisham added another silver in the under 70 kg category, and Al Yazia Hamad took home the bronze medal in the under 44 kg category, following competitive matches that showcased the improved technical skills of the athletes.
For its part, Kalba Women's Sports Club continued its outstanding performance in the junior category, securing first place in the overall standings. Noura Sultan contributed significantly to this achievement by winning the gold medal in the under 36 kg weight class. Reem Saif also won gold in the under 44 kg category, as did Sumaya Ahmed in the under 48 kg category. Dana Ali secured gold in the under 52 kg category, and Rodina Mohammed earned gold in the under 57 kg category.
Hafsa Issa won the silver medal in the under 44 kg category, Khawla Abdulrahman took silver in the under 52 kg category, and Sarah Yaqoub added another silver in the over 70 kg category. Hind Saif earned the bronze medal in the under 48 kg category.
In the girls' category, Kalba Women's Sports Club maintained its strong presence, topping the overall standings after winning seven medals. Salma Abdulrahman won the gold medal in the under 63 kg category, while Hour Al Marashda added gold in the under 57 kg category, Hessa Abdullah secured gold in the under 78 kg category, and Aisha Hassan won gold in the under 52 kg category.
In the same category, Sarah Jawhar won the silver medal in the under 63 kg category, Aya Adnan won silver in the under 70 kg category, and Nada Rashid won the bronze medal in the under 44 kg category.
Souria Haddad, Judo Technical Director at Sharjah Women's Sports Clubs, stated that the results achieved by the athletes at the Al Ain International Championship reflect the extensive training and development undertaken in recent times. She emphasized that the championship served as an important evaluation point for the athletes' level, particularly in the junior and youth categories.
Haddad added, “What we witnessed in the matches was a clear improvement in confidence, tactical discipline, and the ability to implement instructions on the mat. This is something we are working on gradually, tailored to the players’ ages and developmental stages. These participations provide the players with genuine competitive experience and contribute to preparing them for upcoming events with greater spirit and readiness.”
These results reflect the fruit of continuous technical work and training programmes adopted by the Sharjah Women’s Sports clubs. These programmes focus on developing skills, enhancing mental and physical readiness, and providing competitive opportunities for different age groups, thus contributing to building a strong foundation for women’s judo and empowering players to compete confidently in future events.
