Inter Milan responded to a two-goal deficit against bottom-placed Pisa by scoring six goals to secure a 6–2 victory. The win extended their lead at the top of the table to six points over city rivals AC Milan.
Pisa stunned the San Siro crowd with two early goals from Stefano Murillo in the 11th and 23rd minutes. However, Inter rallied and completely turned the match around before halftime.
Inter scored three goals before the break. Piotr Zielinski converted a penalty in the 39th minute, followed by a goal from captain Lautaro Martinez in the 41st minute. Pio Esposito added another goal in stoppage time at 45+2.
Inter added three more goals in the second half. Substitute Federico Dimarco scored in the 82nd minute, followed by another from substitute Ong-Yuan Bony in the 86th minute. Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan completed the rout with a goal in the 90+3 minute.
Inter entered the match focused on maintaining their lead ahead of crucial fixtures involving rivals AC Milan and Napoli. With this win, Inter raised their total to 52 points, six ahead of AC Milan.
Despite a strong domestic run, Inter has struggled in the Champions League. They suffered their third consecutive defeat on Tuesday, losing 1–3 at home to Arsenal, and sit 14th in their group ahead of their final match against Borussia Dortmund.
Inter managed the victory despite missing key players Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Denzel Dumfries through injury. The win marked Inter’s seventh straight victory against Pisa, who remain bottom of the table with 14 points after failing to win in their last ten matches.
