Sharjah 24 – AFP: Aston Villa moved to within four points of the Premier League leaders after a strong 2-0 victory at Newcastle. Emi Buendia opened the scoring with a superb long-range strike, while Ollie Watkins sealed the win with a late header. The result keeps Villa in contention for the title and strengthens their chances of returning to European competition.

Newcastle suffer setback in Champions League race

Newcastle, missing captain Bruno Guimaraes through injury, struggled to create chances and slipped to ninth in the table. Despite the defeat, they remain only three points outside the top five, keeping their hopes of Champions League qualification alive.

Chelsea move into top four with win at Palace

Chelsea climbed into the top four after beating Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park. Estevao opened the scoring following a Palace error, and Joao Pedro added a second soon after halftime. Nottingham Forest boosted their Premier League survival hopes with a 2-0 victory against Brentford. Igor Jesus and Taiwo Awoniyi scored the goals that lifted Forest five points clear of the relegation zone, easing pressure on manager Sean Dyche.
