Sharjah 24: Wolverhampton have become the first team to be relegated to the second tier (the Championship) out of three, after West Ham drew 0–0 with their neighbours Crystal Palace at the end of Matchday 33 of the English Premier League.

Seven-year top-flight run ends

After seven consecutive seasons in the Premier League, Wolverhampton will play in the Championship, having fallen to the bottom of the table, 16 points behind 17th-placed West Ham, with five matches remaining in the season.

Relegation battle intensifies

The battle to avoid joining them will be fierce in the closing stages, as West Ham are only two points clear of 18th-placed Tottenham, with Nottingham Forest just three points further ahead, while Burnley appear to be heading down as they sit 19th, 13 points adrift of safety.
