Xposure celebrates achievements of global creative photography

Based in San Francisco, Josh Edelson is a renowned photojournalist and corporate photographer who has been documenting California’s wildfire crisis for over a decade. His work for Agence France-Presse is recognized worldwide.

In his acceptance remarks, Josh expressed his gratitude to Xposure for bestowing the IFPA on him, acknowledging that his efforts shed light on critical issues surrounding the wildfire crisis in California. In an interview with “Sharjah 24,” he stressed that discussing these topics highlights the urgency of climate change, which remains a pressing issue with consequences that reach far beyond California, manifesting through fires, floods, and droughts.

Ana Elisa Sotelo, a Peruvian photographer and educator, delves into themes of gender, culture, and the human-nature relationship. Through collaborative projects, she fuses art with activism, focusing on resilience, identity, and ecological connections, and engages communities in meaningful visual storytelling.

In her interview with “Sharjah 24,” Ana emphasized that the Global Focus Project Award showcases the rich diversity of photographic language, bringing together various perspectives in a competitive environment. Her winning project, “Portraits of the Multiverse,” created in collaboration with Sadith Silvano, illustrates the myriad possibilities of photography, underscoring the power of collaboration among photographers worldwide.
