The department's Community Cohesion Division launches the initiative twice a year, once before Eid al-Fitr and again before Eid al-Adha, to allow for greater participation in this humanitarian community project. The 14th edition of the initiative began in January and will continue until the end of Ramadan.
The "Arkan" platforms, featuring "Joy Boxes," were distributed across several shopping malls, including Rahmania Mall, Suyoh Mall, 06 Mall, and Aljada, as well as government departments, private institutions, and public benefit organisations throughout the Emirate. Contributors can fill the boxes by purchasing gifts according to the child's size indicated on the box. Gifts include clothing, shoes, accessories, or other age-appropriate items. Contributors can also purchase a complete box for AED 300.
The "Eid Joy" initiative, now in its fourteenth edition, has spread to various cities and regions within the Emirate of Sharjah, including Khorfakkan, Al Dhaid, Al Hamriyah, Kalba, Mleiha, Al Madam, Al Bataeh, and Dibba Al Hisn.
The initiative benefits approximately 865 children served by the department and its affiliated social care homes.
