Sharjah Ruler raises monthly allowances for specific categories

Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed that the monthly allowances of 6,317 male and female citizens in the Emirate of Sharjah be increased to AED 17,500 per month. The beneficiaries fall under the categories of senior citizens, widows, divorced women, and low-income families (two members or more).

The total annual value of the increase amounts to AED 524 million, with beneficiaries set to receive the new allowances starting from January 2026.

The directive was announced by Her Excellency Mariam Majid Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Social Services Department, during a phone interview on the programme Direct Line, broadcast by Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
