Sharjah 24 – WAM: The UAE Cybersecurity Council announced that the national cyber system successfully blocked organised terrorist cyberattacks aimed at the country’s digital infrastructure and critical sectors, preventing attempts to destabilise the nation and disrupt essential services.

Prioritising safety and service continuity

The Council emphasised that the safety of individuals, protection of personal data, and continuity of vital services remain top priorities. The national cybersecurity and cyber defence system operates 24/7 in cooperation with service providers, national and international partners, and specialised organisations, using advanced technical expertise to strengthen protection, accelerate recovery, and enhance national digital resilience.

Sophisticated attack methods

The thwarted attacks included network infiltration attempts, ransomware deployment, and systematic phishing campaigns targeting national platforms. Terrorist groups also exploited artificial intelligence technologies to develop sophisticated offensive tools, marking a qualitative shift in digital attack methods.

Commitment to national cybersecurity

The Council reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the digital domain and maintaining stability, while rejecting attacks on critical infrastructure and civil services.

Public advisory

The public is urged to report cyber threats or suspicious activities through officially approved channels to ensure the security of the nation’s digital environment and the continuity of its institutions.
