Sharjah 24: Khulood Al Ali, Director of the Elderly Services Center of Sharjah Social Services Department, stated that the center, since launched in 2003, has put standards when it come to cohesive care, bringing together social, medical, and logistical assistance, thus reinforcing its position as a prominent model within the age-friendly cities system. The centre’s Al Asala Club offers specialised programs that include educational and recreational services designed to enhance the quality of life for the elderly population.

She explained during her remarks to “Sharjah 24” that the center offers a range of medical services to senior citizens with qualified and licensed staff from the Sharjah Health Authority, to ensure delivering top-notch home care.

Comfort and safety

Among the services offered are: Home nursing services, providing continuous care for bedridden individuals, reflect profound humanitarian concern, and the medical transport service to assist wheelchair users to facilitate accessing their medical appointments across the country via an equipped fleet and trained personnel, ensuring the comfort and safety of the elderly.
