Safety measures inside buildings

According to the guide, people inside buildings—whether at home or in offices—are advised to stay away from open areas like balconies and windows and seek shelter in a secure indoor space.

It also recommends listening to alerts issued through internal broadcast systems or security instructions, avoiding the use of lifts if instructed, staying away from glass surfaces and barriers, and remaining in place until an official notification from the UAE Ministry of Interior confirms the situation is safe.

Guidance for those outdoors

For people outside buildings, the guide recommends heading immediately to the nearest safe building or calmly driving to the closest suitable location where they can seek shelter, while avoiding areas near windows, external walls, or glass panels.

Avoid spreading rumours

The Sharjah Government Media Bureau also urged the public to follow updates issued by official authorities and rely solely on verified information, warning against sharing rumours, voice messages or unverified videos.

Cooperation with authorities

The guide emphasised the importance of following the instructions of security and safety teams during emergencies and contacting the relevant authorities via the emergency number 999 if necessary.

It also recommended refraining from photographing or publishing images and videos of incident sites.

Officials noted that these guidelines are part of the integrated readiness system that Sharjah continuously develops to improve community safety, preserve daily stability, and ensure the ongoing provision of essential services.
