Sharjah24: The Criminal Investigation and Investigations Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police announced the arrest of 45 individuals of various nationalities for filming different locations during the ongoing events and publishing the footage on social media platforms, in addition to circulating inaccurate and misleading information, which could provoke public opinion and spread rumours among members of the community.
Abu Dhabi Police have taken the necessary legal and administrative measures against them as part of the continuous efforts undertaken by security authorities to monitor and track violations related to the misuse of social media. The police affirmed that such behaviours constitute a violation of the applicable laws and regulations, stressing the importance of verifying accuracy and refraining from publishing or re-sharing any unverified content or information that is not issued by official authorities, due to its negative impact on community security and the course of security procedures.

Abu Dhabi Police also urged the public to obtain information only from approved official sources and to refrain from photographing or publishing locations of incidents or any related footage, in order to safeguard the integrity of the procedures being followed and protect the public interest.

It further clarified that the relevant authorities are closely monitoring what is being circulated on social media platforms and will take the necessary legal action against anyone who violates the law or contributes to spreading rumours or misleading information, affirming that maintaining security and stability is a shared responsibility that requires awareness and cooperation from all members of society.
