Sharjah24; The programme “Faithful Glimpses”, broadcast on Sharjah 24, concluded its Ramadan episodes with a tenth instalment carrying profound spiritual messages. In the episode, Dr Salem Al Doubi, Head of the Preaching and Fatwa Department at the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, highlighted the importance of the final hours and moments of the holy month of Ramadan, stressing that they represent a decisive stage in a believer’s life and a measure of whether deeds are accepted or rejected.

Al Doubi explained that the conclusion of actions holds great significance in Islamic teachings, noting that Muslims are required to end the month as well as they began it, increasing their efforts in the final hours due to the immense opportunities for repentance, returning to God, and making up for shortcomings.

Final moments: A time for freater devotion

He emphasised that these final moments are not a time for decline or fatigue, but among the greatest seasons of worship. The righteous strive to reach the peak of devotion during this period, following the example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who exerted greater effort in the last days of Ramadan than at any other time.

Warning against complacency

Al Doubi highlighted the importance of a good ending, stressing that a person’s final actions determine the outcome of their deeds. He underscored the need for sincerity, consistency in worship, and avoiding complacency.

Worship beyond Ramadan

He affirmed that worship is not confined to a specific time, emphasising that Ramadan is not merely a temporary season of devotion, but a spiritual school that teaches Muslims how to sustain worship and remain committed throughout their lives.

Self-reflection and accountability

Al Doubi called for making use of these moments for self-accountability, reflecting on the good deeds performed during Ramadan—such as fasting, night prayers, charity, and recitation of the Qur’an—while evaluating performance, strengthening positive aspects, and addressing shortcomings, so that Ramadan becomes a true turning point in one’s life.

Continuing good deeds after Ramadan

He urged the public to continue acts of worship after Ramadan, noting that one of the signs of accepted deeds is their continuity. This includes maintaining prayers, reading the Qur’an regularly, continuing charity, observing voluntary fasting, and upholding the good character cultivated during Ramadan.

The real test of faith

He pointed out that the real challenge lies not only in striving during Ramadan, but in maintaining that commitment afterwards. A true believer, he said, is one who remains connected to Allah at all times and uses Ramadan as a starting point for a renewed spiritual life.

A golden opportunity not to be missed

In conclusion, Al Doubi stressed that the final hours of Ramadan are an irreplaceable golden opportunity that should be seized through supplication, seeking forgiveness, and sincere repentance. He prayed that Allah accepts everyone’s fasting and prayers, frees them from the Hellfire, and grants them a good ending and steadfastness in worship.
