Dubai sends WHO medical aid to support displaced in Lebanon

Sharjah24-WAM: Under the directives of His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian facilitated the dispatch of vital humanitarian aid from the World Health Organisation to support communities displaced in Lebanon amid ongoing conflict.

A land convoy of four trucks left Dubai on Friday, 20 March 2026, carrying 21.5 metric tonnes of vital medical supplies. The shipment is expected to arrive in Lebanon within several days and includes medicines and essential items to support healthcare services addressing the needs of displaced populations.

Support for ongoing relief efforts

The cargo will support ongoing humanitarian efforts aimed at reducing the impact of the crisis and ensuring continuous access to healthcare for affected communities.

Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, stated that the operation demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to delivering essential aid promptly, emphasising the strength of its global network and partnerships in addressing changing humanitarian challenges.

Global partnerships drive humanitarian response

The operation, with transportation costs funded by the Global Humanitarian Impact Fund (GHIF), was supported by Dubai Humanitarian as part of its role in emergency preparedness and response. Using strategic partnerships and regional connections, the organisation continues to backing international humanitarian efforts and supports communities in need.
