Sharjah24: Sharjah Police demonstrated exceptional professionalism during the recent weather downturn, receiving a total of 40,647 calls to their emergency and non-emergency lines. The 999 emergency hotline received 33,693 calls, while the 901 line for non-urgent inquiries handled 6,954 calls.

Efficient operations centre management

Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammed Rahma Al Ghazal, Head of the Operations Department , explained that the centre followed a fully integrated operational system. This system ensures rapid call reception, accurate analysis, and prompt dispatch of relevant authorities, minimising the impact of adverse weather and maintaining smooth traffic flow across the emirate.

On-ground patrols and coordination

Sharjah Police deployed security and traffic patrols across main roads, intersections, and key areas, monitoring the situation around the clock. Coordination with strategic partners and concerned authorities enhanced rapid emergency response and ensured all reports were handled with the highest readiness standards.

Public safety advisory

The Sharjah Police urged the public to exercise caution during weather fluctuations, follow road safety guidelines, and contact the 999 hotline for emergencies or the 901 line for non-urgent matters, supporting ongoing efforts to protect the community and ensure its safety.
