Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police have issued a warning to parents following the tragic death of a young child in a rainwater pool.

Dangers of rainwater pools and wadis

Authorities explained that pools and wadis formed after rain can be extremely dangerous. Even shallow-looking water can conceal sudden drops, slippery areas, and unstable mud, all of which increase the risk of drowning or serious injuries.

Incident details

On Wednesday evening around 7:05 PM, a young child fell into a rainwater pool. Despite immediate assistance, the child tragically did not survive.

Police condolences and safety advice

Sharjah Police extended their deepest condolences to the family and stressed the importance of parents closely supervising their children. They urged educating kids about the dangers of rainwater pools.

Community guidance

The police also called on the community to monitor children and report any potential hazards. For non-urgent concerns, residents can call 901, while emergencies should be reported to 999.
