Sharjah 24: Hamad Al-Shehhi of Al Hamriyah set a new UAE national record in the 50-metre freestyle with a time of 23.87 seconds at the Dubai International Aquatics Championships, held at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai from April 2–5, 2026.

Al Hamriyah swimmers shine with 13 medals

Al Hamriyah swimmers collectively won 13 medals at the championships, including 2 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze. Mohammed Al-Muhairi also achieved a personal best with a time of 1:33.33. The event followed the World Championships system and featured over 1,670 participants from 80 government clubs and private academies.

Club leaders praise achievements

His Excellency Humaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, congratulated Hamad Al-Shehhi on his record and praised the dedication of the coaching staff and other medal-winning swimmers. Captain Ahmed Jamal Al Din, Technical Director of Al Hamriyah Swimming Team, expressed delight at the athletes’ performances and highlighted the ongoing support from the club’s board.
