Sharjah 24 – AFP: PSV Eindhoven were crowned Dutch champions for the 27th time on Sunday, securing the title with five matches remaining after second-placed Feyenoord drew 0-0 with Volendam.

Dominant season performance

PSV hold an unassailable 17-point lead at the top of the table, bouncing back from successive defeats with a 4-3 victory over Utrecht on Saturday. Peter Bosz's side dominated this season’s title race, dropping just four points before the winter break.

Historic achievement

The club has now won three successive league titles for the first time since 2008. Feyenoord, under current Liverpool manager Arne Slot, were the previous champions in 2023, while Ajax, currently fifth, have gone four years without lifting the trophy.

Champions League qualification

PSV’s latest title secures them a place in the group stage of next season’s Champions League, continuing their tradition of European competition.
