Sharjah 24: World No. 1 and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Jannik Sinner advanced to the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters on Friday, defeating Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik 6-3, 6-0 and Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-4 respectively.

Jannik Sinner set up a blockbuster semi-final clash with Germany’s Alexander Zverev.

Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz extended his clay-court winning streak to 16 matches after defeating Alexander Bublik in just one hour and three minutes.

The Spaniard broke Alexander Bublik’s serve in the opening game and had four further chances to break again, but failed to convert them.

The Kazakh hit back with a break in the fourth game to lead 3-2, before Carlos Alcaraz won the next ten games in a row to seal a comfortable victory.

Carlos Alcaraz will next face Monaco’s Valentin Vacherot, who continued his impressive run by beating Australia’s Alex de Minaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
