Aston Villa held to draw by Nottingham Forest in Premier League

Villa took the lead through an own goal by Brazilian defender Murillo in the 23rd minute, before Nottingham Forest equalised in the 38th minute through Neco Williams.

Despite coming into the match on the back of a strong 3–1 away win over Bologna in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, Unai Emery’s side failed to overtake Manchester United into third place, remaining level on 55 points but behind on goal difference.

Forest, meanwhile, moved to 33 points, pulling three points clear of the relegation zone.
