Atletico reach semis despite loss, knock out Barcelona

Atletico Madrid eliminated their compatriot and numerically inferior guest, Barcelona, from the Champions League quarter-finals despite losing 1-2 in the second leg, capitalising on a 2-0 first-leg victory to secure their place in the semi-finals.

Barcelona got off to the best possible start with goals from Lamine Yamal (4) and Ferran Torres (24), before Nigeria's Ademola Lookman scored to reduce the score and qualify for Atletico (31). In a match that saw Barcelona defender Eric Garcia sent off with a red card 11 minutes before the end of stoppage time.
