The opening session was attended by His Excellency Dr Issa bin Hanzal, Chairman of the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting religious awareness and strengthening community values.
The event saw notable engagement from students of knowledge and members of the public, with the mosque filled with attendees from various backgrounds.
The first week’s theme, “Moral Legislation and the Protection of Society,” was delivered by Dr Ahmed Saad Al Khateeb, Professor of Tafsir and Quranic Sciences at Al Qasimia University.
He provided an in-depth explanation of the verses, drawing on Imam Al-Tabari's interpretation and emphasising the comprehensive ethical and social framework outlined in Surah Al Noor.
Dr Al Khateeb highlighted that the Surah serves as a foundational reference for building a society based on chastity and purity, stressing that adherence to its teachings supports family cohesion and social stability.
Discussions also emphasised the importance of applying these values in daily life, particularly in light of contemporary challenges.
The series is part of the forum’s efforts to activate the role of mosques as centres of knowledge and cultural engagement, thereby contributing to intellectual and behavioural development.
Upcoming sessions will continue in Al Dhaid and Al Madam, covering themes of family ethics and spiritual development.
