Romania national football team confirmed Hagi’s appointment on a four-year contract, bringing back the former Gheorghe Hagi, who previously managed the side in 2001 for a short three-month period.
Ambition to win and long-term goals
Now 61, Hagi said the appointment is both an honour and a major responsibility, stressing his determination to win every match. He outlined key targets, including success in the UEFA Nations League and qualification for Euro 2028.
A more experienced and mature coach
Reflecting on his earlier stint, Hagi noted how much he has developed as a coach, saying he is now more experienced and composed in his approach. He replaces Mircea Lucescu, who was dismissed in early April.
