Timberwolves turn the tables on Nuggets in NBA playoffs

Sharjah 24: Led by star player Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves staged a remarkable comeback against the Denver Nuggets, securing a 119-114 victory in a thrilling game and leveling the series at 1-1 in the Western Conference first-round NBA playoffs.

After trailing by 19 points early in the game, the Timberwolves, who finished sixth in the regular season, rallied in the final quarter to clinch a crucial win against the third-place Nuggets, having lost the first game 105-116 on Saturday.

Crucial win

The Nuggets led 39-25 in the first quarter, but the Timberwolves staged a strong comeback in the second, tying the game 64-64 at halftime before closing out the victory in the second half.

Edwards (30 points) was supported by Julius Randle, who scored 24 points, while Donte DiVincenzo added 16.

Canadian Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 30 points, while Serbian Nikola Jokic contributed 24 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists.

"We did what we expected," Randle said.

"When you start a road series, you aim to win. That's what we did, and now we're home with a couple of days to recover."

Mitchell and Harden combine 58 points

Donovan Mitchell and James Harden combined for 58 points, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 115-105 victory over the visiting Toronto Raptors and taking a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference series.

Cleveland, who finished the regular season in fourth place, had already crushed their opponent 126-113 on Saturday in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series, further cementing their dominance over fifth-placed Toronto.
