Sharjah24: Napoli secured an emphatic 4–0 victory over Cremonese in Serie A, postponing Inter Milan’s title celebrations for at least another week in matchweek 34.

With four rounds remaining, the reigning champions reduced the gap to Inter to nine points thanks to goals from Scott McTominay (3’), an own goal by Filippo Terracciano (45’), Kevin De Bruyne (45+3’), and Alisson Santos (52’).

Inter still close to the title

Inter could have officially sealed their 21st league title against Torino had Napoli dropped points. Despite Napoli’s win, the Nerazzurri now need just four points from their remaining five matches to secure the title.

Cremonese remain in deep trouble, sitting 18th with 28 points, level on goal difference with 17th-placed Lecce, who still have a game in hand.

Champions League spot within reach

While Napoli’s chances of retaining the title are now slim, they are closing in on qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League. Antonio Conte’s side hold an 11-point advantage over Como and Roma, who face Genoa and Bologna respectively this week.
