SNQSE concludes its Ramadan competition for Sharjah govt employees

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment (SNQSE) organised its closing ceremony for the Ramadan competition for male and female employees of the Government of Sharjah at the Holy Quran Academy Hall in Sharjah.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sultan Matar bin Dalmook Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Establishment’s Board of Directors; His Excellency Omar Al Shamsi, Director General of the Establishment; and Aisha Al Huwaidi, Member of the Board of Directors, alongside participants, honourees and judging panels.

Strong participation in the tenth edition

The ceremony followed the success of the competition’s tenth edition, held during the month of Ramadan 1447 AH / 2026. It targeted employees of government departments and authorities in the Emirate of Sharjah, recording quality participation exceeding 232 male and female contestants in the final rounds, including 100 men and 132 women representing 70 government and semi-government entities.

Opening and programme highlights

The ceremony opened with the UAE National Anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

The programme included a speech delivered by the Chairman of the Board, who affirmed that the competition represents one of the qualitative initiatives the Establishment is keen to organise annually, with the aim of instilling Quranic values in the government workplace and promoting positive competition among employees in memorisation and recitation. He noted that the strong turnout in the tenth edition reflects the initiative’s success in achieving its social and educational objectives.

Ongoing development of Quranic programmes

He also highlighted that the Establishment continues to develop its Quranic programmes and expand their scope, contributing to the building of a society that upholds its values and identity, and remains connected to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, under the continued support of the wise leadership.

Visual presentation and recognition of efforts

The ceremony featured a video presentation showcasing key milestones of the competition since its launch, highlighting the wide participation and the high levels of excellence demonstrated by employees of government entities, as well as the efforts of the judging and organising committees in ensuring the event’s success.

Honouring winners and contributors

At the conclusion of the ceremony, 20 male and female winners across the competition’s various categories were honoured following strong competition that reflected a high level of proficiency and commitment. Government entities represented by the winners were also recognised, along with members of the judging panels in appreciation of their efforts in evaluating entries to the highest standards, in addition to honouring supporting entities that contributed to the success of the competition.
