Sharjah 24: Sharjah FC head coach José Morais has called on his players to deliver a fitting farewell to the home faithful when they host Khor Fakkan in the final matchday of the ADNOC Pro League 2025–26 season

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of Thursday's fixture, the Portuguese manager set out clear expectations for how he wants the campaign to end—with purpose, pride, and the full backing of the stands behind them.

A chance to end the season well
"It is the last match of the season, and it is at our ground," Morais said. We are determined to finish the league positively. "We hope our fans will come out to support us and that we can end the season with a positive outlook towards a better future."

The 60-year-old, who joined Sharjah in December 2025 on a contract running until the end of the 2026–27 campaign, was keen to stress that the ambitions of the supporters are very much shared by the team. "It is natural for fans to have high expectations — and that reflects the club's own ambitions," he said. "I believe the players carry the same mentality and desire."

A season of transition
Morais was candid in his assessment of a difficult campaign, acknowledging it had not always met the standards that Sharjah supporters have come to expect. "Perhaps this season has not always made the fans happy," he admitted, "but it should be considered a transitional period following years of success. We hope to be given sufficient time to prepare for the future in a way that brings the team stability and allows us to return to the winning ways this club is accustomed to."

Sharjah has faced a challenging year, marked by injuries, team changes, and the demands of a relentless fixture schedule, but Morais remains steadfast in his belief that the foundations for better days are being established.

Dhari Fahad: The team is ready and eager
Emirati midfielder Dhari Fahad echoed his manager's sentiments and insisted that the dressing room is fully prepared for the occasion. "Our preparations have been going well, and we are all ready for this match," he said. "We aim to conclude the season positively, and with God's help, we will secure the victory."

The 22-year-old was also acutely aware of what the fans deserve after a testing campaign. "We know the supporters were expecting more from us this season," Fahad acknowledged. We will give everything in this match to make them happy and make up for what has passed. "We are also eager to provide a better season next year, God willing."
