The programme was organised in conjunction with the UAE’s “Year of the Family 2026” and featured several themes to reinforce family cohesion and promote the family’s role in building a safe and stable society.
The programme highlighted the importance of strengthening relationships between parents and children through positive dialogue and effective communication within the family. It also focused on enhancing the role of parents as the primary source of guidance and support, and on fostering the development of positive values and behaviour in their children.
In addition, the programme emphasised the importance of integrating the efforts of community institutions and families to support social stability and to build strong, cohesive families.
The initiative also included a family counselling session that addressed key family-related issues and explored effective, conscious approaches to dealing with and resolving them.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Merri, Director of the Community Protection and Prevention Department at Sharjah Police, said that organising such programmes reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that strengthen family stability.
He noted that an aware and cohesive family is the first line of defence for children, adding that community partnership plays a vital role in building a secure, stable and united society.
