SRTA celebrates 54th Eid Al Etihad with patriotic festivities

Sharjah24: Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) hosted a national celebration this morning at its headquarters to mark the 54th Union Day. The event was attended by His Excellency Eng. Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of the Authority, along with directors, department heads, and a large number of employees. The celebration embodied the spirit of the Union and the values of loyalty, belonging, and national pride.

The ceremony started with a welcoming speech that delivered heartfelt congratulations to the UAE leadership on this important national occasion. The programme included a range of patriotic segments, such as a special artistic performance by children from Al Worood Nursery, expressing love for the country through creative displays. A documentary highlighting Sharjah SRTA’s achievements over the year and the development of its services was also shown.

A shining national journey

In his speech, His Excellency Eng. Yousef Al Othmani emphasised that the 54th Eid Al Etihadmarks a historic milestone honouring the legacy of the founding fathers and their vision for a modern, united nation built on determination, ambition, and unity. He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to following the path of the UAE’s leadership, prioritising people at the centre of development and advancing vital sectors, including transport and infrastructure.

Instilling loyalty in future generations

Al Othmani stressed the importance of fostering loyalty and responsibility among the younger generations so they can uphold the Union’s banner with strong resolve. He expressed gratitude for the UAE’s ongoing security and prosperity, praying for continued progress and stability.

Artistic and interactive segments enrich the event

The celebration featured a performance by Al Ansar International School, where students expressed pride in their national identity. Artist Sheikha Al Kaabi displayed a unique LEGO artwork of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, highlighting the role of art in expressing cultural identity. A panel discussion titled “Emirati Society: Past and Present” explored social development and the contributions of Emirati citizens to the nation’s progress. The event also included competitions that engaged the audience and fostered an atmosphere of excitement.

Concluding with gratitude and national spirit

SRTA employees presented a “Message of Thanks” video as a gesture of appreciation for the Emirate’s leadership. The ceremony concluded with another artistic performance by Al Ansar International School, followed by closing remarks that expressed gratitude to all participants and emphasised the importance of such events in promoting unity and reinforcing the values of the Union.
