The Deanship of Student Affairs organised a range of national and cultural activities, including the opening of a heritage village with sections dedicated to Emirati history and culture. The programme also featured patriotic poetry recitals and an exhibition of visual arts and photography that emphasised student creativity and their ties to national celebrations.
The Shuhuh folk troupe showcased the traditional Rawah and Nabda arts, creating a lively heritage scene that expresses strength, unity, and pride in Emirati traditions.
The women’s ceremony showcased performances by school pupils and featured a variety of stations including henna, bridal adornment, Arabic calligraphy, and a traditional market. Workshops were organised in partnership with Sharjah Museums, with further participation from the House of Documentation, Al Qasimi Publications, Sharjah Municipality, the Art for All Centre, the Rashid Al Nehmeh Museum, and the Social Services Department.
The Public Relations Department organised national performances, the Diwan Al Tayyib activity and training workshops that enriched the overall programme. The event reflected Al Qasimia University’s consistent and active contribution to national occasions and its commitment to promoting loyalty and belonging to the UAE.
Professor Dr Al Khalaf said the celebration reflects the university’s great pride in the UAE’s blessed union and its commitment to instilling values of belonging and loyalty among its diverse student body. He added that the activities reinforce the university’s mission to strengthen Emirati identity and deepen students’ understanding of the nation’s heritage and history, in line with the leadership’s vision for building aware, responsible generations capable of contributing to the country’s progress.
