Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, met at Zabeel Palace with Daniel Noboa, President of Ecuador, during the latter’s official visit to the UAE to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and expand friendly bilateral relations.

Focus on economic, trade, and sustainable development cooperation

The meeting, attended by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and other senior officials, explored strengthening ties in the economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, sustainability, tourism, agriculture, and the digital economy—sectors vital for sustainable development and progress in both nations.

UAE’s commitment to strategic partnerships

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s dedication, under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to building development partnerships worldwide, diversifying economic growth sources, and enhancing opportunities in renewable energy, green economy, and digital sectors for future generations.

Ecuador’s appreciation and interest in collaboration

President Noboa extended greetings from Ecuador and praised the UAE’s achievements. He expressed Ecuador’s interest in benefiting from the UAE’s experience in development and nation-building, while seeking to expand trade, investment, and cooperation across tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, and modern technology sectors.

Attendance of senior officials

The meeting included key UAE figures such as His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, and Ibrahim Salem Al Alawi. From Ecuador, officials included María Gabriela Sommerfeld Rosero, Roberto Carlos Cory Pesantis, and Felipe Rivadeneira.

Discussion on regional and global cooperation

The leaders discussed regional and international issues, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts for peace, stability, and multilateral development. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growth of bilateral ties and outlined a vision to enhance cooperation through practical public-private partnerships.
