Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Chairman of Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA), stated that the participation aims to strengthen its role in raising awareness about the significance of marine resources and the importance of conserving them. He mentioned that the festival has become a family-friendly platform that combines entertainment with education in an engaging environment.
The pavilion features a Fisheries Corner that introduces visitors to artificial reef structures and emphasises ongoing efforts to protect fish stocks. Another area dedicated to Fishing Affairs and Fishermen’s Associations displays traditional fishing tools and the development of the profession over the years.
In addition, the Marine Majlis will host fishermen and sector officials to discuss key challenges faced by the profession and explore solutions to support and develop the industry.
The Authority emphasised that its involvement demonstrates a dedication to fostering children’s understanding of the marine environment, conserving the UAE’s rich maritime heritage, and encouraging the long-term sustainability of marine ecosystems.
